Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big Decline LIke many have said, something changed recently! And it's not for the best. After years of using FreshStep Unscented, my last two packages have gone from being a star to being a dud. It's become dusty, clumps poorly, doesn't control odors, the color is different, there is no evidence of charcol, etc. The worst part is that my cats don't like it anymore. They'll use it, but only after a lot of scratching to cover up their excrement or distribute odor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New unscented formula is like fine dust! It appears I’m having the same experience as others with the recent change in the unscented litter. I have purchased this product for years and my most recent purchase had the consistency of fine gray dust. I’m sensitive to odors and dust and this was the worst ever. I thought I received a bad container but after checking the recent customer feedback, something has gone horribly wrong with the manufacturing process. For the first time, one of my cats is sneezing while in the litter box. I’m at a loss…and will be shopping for other unscented formulas.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this three months ago and the formula has changed. It is now so dusty that a layer covers my whole guest room where the boxes and it made my cat sick. He had an upper respiratory infection from it. I had to stop using it. I have been using, fresh step unscented for years and I am so disappointed that it has changed

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I feel like I bought the wrong litter. At first it seemed okay,, but not anymore. It’s much too dusty now, and the cats track more around than they used to. Also, I can smell the same perfume as in the regular litter, only less, even though I buy unscented. In fairness, it still clumps well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DUSTY! DUSTY! DUSTY! I used this litter for seven years with 3 cats and I absolutely loved the litter. Even during Covid, we would scour the stores to find Fresh Step Unscented. It was fantastic and did everything we wanted in our house….so what changed???? This litter is so dusty now that my whole basement has a layer of dust in just a day or two after cleaning. No, this little is no longer dust free. Whoever had this brilliant idea to not make the litter dust free, they SHOULD BE FIRED ON THE SPOT…. AND I AM WILLING TO DO IT! What a dumb a.s move! I quit buying it and it would really take a big change for me to come back as a customer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best unscented litter ever I am a long time kitten foster of over 100 cats and kittens and have used every litter on the planet. This is by far the best litter I have found for multiple cats or those cats who expect their staff to tidy up their litter boxes. It does NOT smell at all - even with three full grown cats or a huge litter of kittens using the boxes in a room. I kid you not. I have told every foster I know. It also lasts a LONG time, which saves me a fortune. When the kitten nursery and the cat palace are both occupied, I go through litter and food at an alarming rate. I don't know how it lasts so long, but I am grateful. It clumps well, doesn't smell, and extends the life of a litter tray pour. I will never go back to another litter. Thank you for Outstretch - you nave made my life much easier and far more pleasant.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrendous! Looks like gunpowder! I don’t know if I got defective boxes (two from Amazon and one locally) or if the formula has changed since January 2024. I thought I was buying more of the large size gray clay granules. But received boxes of black fine dust particles that were smaller than sand. Did I get boxes of carbon powder without any litter??? The stuff is unusable. Too bad because the Unscented formula change last year was so bad that it makes concrete on the feet of the cats because it makes urine pool on the surface. Don’t know what Les to do but change brands.
