Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dark gray mud “dust free” for the way the formula is now is some kind of joke. I’ve been buying the Simply Unscented for years. I get 5 of the 4 bag/42 lb packages at a time. Why was the formula changed. It’s now a dark gray color, finer, dustier and doesn’t clump very well. It doesn’t clump/absorb urine at all. The urine sits there in a muddy litter puddle. This is stupid because a change like this can cause your cats to stop using the litter box. GO BACK TO THE OLD FORMULA OR YOU LOST a $100+ per month customer.

I have been buying it consistently for at least 5 years or more and this is probably the worst litter now. Cleaning is a disaster and it is very “muddy” for lack of a better term. Will definitely be changing brands since it appears the formula won’t be changing. Highly disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disastrous new formula. Do not buy. I guess my local store finally ran out of the old formula, because I just got my first box of the new stuff and it’s terrible. It hardly clumps, it’s dusty all over, and it tracks everywhere. “Muddy” shouldn’t ever be an adjective you can use to describe litter. Whichever executive(s) greenlit this disaster should be fired for incompetence. If you’re reading this and considering buying this product for your cat, until they fix the formula, DO NOT buy this. Find another litter, as we will now be forced to do after four years of buying this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Cat litter I buy 4 -42 lbs packages of this liter a month. I used the first 4 bags and noticed it was different. Open the second one and it is the same. My cats don't like it. Now I got to find another brand that is similar to the "old brand"

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lost a customer We have been using fresh step for decades. This new formula sticks to my cats paws, smells like concrete mix, also doesn’t clump. It makes a big mess inside and outside the litter box. We buy 6 box’s at a time from chewy, now we are stuck with it. We will never buy this product again.

I notified customer service 2 months ago and I was not told that there was a change in formula. I just poured the box into her litter box and it is dreadful. Dark and smelly. What happened? Is this safe for our fur babies? I am very concerned for my cat’s wellbeing now. Please advise!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible new formula! i've been using this litter for many years and now have to find some other brand. the new formula is nothing like the old one. it caused me to have an asthma attack just pouring it into the litter box. my cats refuse to use it at all. in their 8 years of life they have never had a litter box problem with the fresh step unscented. now they won't go near the box and they have peed and pooped everywhere in the house except the litter box. i'm a senior on a limited income and am now having to spend money on trying other brands that don't aggravate my asthma and that the cats will use.
