She is currently President of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oregon Humane Society. Dr. Neilson has published clinical research on behavior, articles in magazines, chapters in various textbooks and most recently written her first full veterinary reference book, Blackwell's Five-Minute Veterinary Consult: Canine and Feline Behavior. When she is at home she enjoys the company of her husband, dog and four feline companions.
