Best litter for one cat I love this product. I have One cat and he loves this litter I have tried other products and he doesn't like to use it. I like the product because I can't stand the smell of cat pooh. This litter is amazing at eliminating this smell. I recommend this product to all my friends especially ones that are getting cats for the first time as a pet.
Dislike the 'carbon' smell. Have been using Fresh Step for 13 years. But now is contains 'carbon' which both myself and my cat HATE the odor of it. Have you just added carbon to your litter, and if not, have you increased the amount of carbon being used? Cannot stand the lingering carbon smell. Do you have any litter that does not contain carbon??
. My cat is very picky about what she likes and this is one of the things she does I just wish I could find it in unscented because the scented one makes my cat smell funny and me sneeze to the point I had to stop using it.
Works great! For single or multiple cats! I love this stuff -it seems to work just as well as the multi-cat formula for my two cats. But for some reason, all the stores near me keep stocking only the SCENTED version - and neither I nor my cats like the scented version. In fact, none of the many cats I've had in my lifetime like any scented litter - so why are stores only stocking those?? I can usually find one version of UNSCENTED Fresh Step at the Pet Smart where I go, but it's almost always out of stock - probably because so many other cat owners have the same opinion! Funny, there's always enough stock of the scented kinds... maybe the stores should take the hint that nobody wants to buy those?? Would love to know where to find the unscented Fresh Step. It clumps great, covers up odors well, and isn't too dusty.

Best Litter EVER!! We tried other litters that said they were great at stopping odors, but they weren't!! We then tried Fresh Step, and it IS the best on the market...We will NEVER buy another Kitty Litter ever again, except Fresh Step!! No bad smells I have two cats and use Fresh Step scented odor shield scoopable cat litter. I live in a small condo, so it's important that I have a good cat litter that keeps the odor down. My condo smells clean and fresh and you wouldn't even know I have two cats. My cats like the litter and always use their cat litter box. So go out and get you some!
Great functionality With our two cats, a cat litter that doesn't smell immediatly or smell overpowering with scent great and the cats love to use it so I suppose they like it. It's really great and we've never felt a need to try other brands.
Please don't ever discontinue this product! It's the only kind of litter I can use as I'm highly allergic to scents of any kind and hate when my kitties smell like kitty litter perfume. I've been using for at least 8 years and when I try other litters, I always come back to Fresh Step. Please don't discontinue. In fact, with 4 cats, it would be great if you could offer in larger sizes. Like other reviews, great odor control and clumping. Would give it five paws, but it seems to be dustier than before.
The best of Fresh Step Fresh Step is the litter I use most often though I do like the sister product Ever Clean too. Of the Fresh Step types, I prefer the unscented because the litter does control urine and feces odors while NOT contaminating the air with a yucky scent. I have 6 cats and 6 litters boxes, so I am very aware of scents/odors! I cannot tell the difference between the effectiveness of the unscented vs. multiple cat formulas, so if you have multiple cats but don't like scented litter, by all means purchase this unscented formula.
Not Just For Single-Cat Homes We use the Fresh Step Unscented Odor Shield litter when we can't find the Fresh Step Unscented for Multiple Cats... and it works great! Unscented litter is healthier for the cats and doesn't leave your house smelling like cat litter perfume. It controls litter box odor very well, and of course the Paw Point perks are just the icing on the cake.
The Right Stuff For Three Balls of Fur! I have tried every clumping litter ever made, and this stuff takes the cake. I have three adult cats and it works wonders. It lasts longer, smells better, and clumps better than any of the other brands. I would recommend this to every cat owner. It is a bit pricey compared to some of the other brands but it's worth it. The only thing that would make fresh step better is some monthly coupons. :)
The only kind I use I absolutely love this kitty litter. I does a great job of masking the odor and clumps so that it is extremely easy to scoop away. I would never change to another product.
Less cost with less mess. My D.C. is new to our home, and she has a true idea of what she wants to use. Mother-In-Law uses another name brand that cost at least $1 more and claims she would use nothing else. But When using the arm&hammer brand...D.C. scoops it out on the floor each and every day. With Fresh Step...she does not do this. I am using less then half as much liter. A box is lasting me twice as long. And with D.C.'s box in my bathroom/bedroom, I have never had to worry about odor. Way to go Fresh Step. D.C. and I love you. You get 3 E's with us.
wonderful litter I 1st got my kitty Clyde barely winged & a veril kitten. Just a hand full of fur. My husband named him Clyde. come to find out he was a she. I bought the scented kind but Clyde would'nt use her box until I took the lid off and aired the box out. Then i went to unscented litter and it is purrrrrfect for her. works the best! i adopted my cat about 4 months ago. being my first cat i had no idea which litter to buy. i went to my local supermarket and bought a well known brand. it said it would clump but didnt and i was sented and it smelled like flowers and kitty mess in my second bathroom where the litter box was. then i tried another well known brand unsented but kitty didnt like it and it was very dusty and she started sneezing and coughing. finally i asked my mother-in-law what brand she uses for her 12 year old male cat and she said that she only uses Fresh step. i've purchased three boxes already and i love it. clumps everytime. gets rid of the odor and doesnt fill the room with litter dust. plus the kitty loves it too. it's affordable,works great and my local supermarket always has it instock!

Best Litter By Far I have recently added a new kitten to my family. Leaving me with a total of two cats. I have two litter boxes in my house and use the normal Scoopable Odor Shield Unscented Fresh Step Litter. It gets the job done; you can never even smell that I have two cats! Being that I also live in an apartment this is incredibly important to me. This litter is also the best value for the buck, you definitely pay for what you get, and in turn get back savings from the Paw Points Rewards. An even better value is buying in bulk- 42 Lb bags are the way to go for sure. Bella, Klaus, and I thank you so much Fresh Step! Two paws up, meow!

Love it! The litter keeps odor almost non-existant! I have to remind myself to check the box to clean .... that's how great it works! I won't go back to any other brand of cat litter!!!
This is NOT unscented It has a faint smell similar to the Extreme Odor Control formula. Kitty litter dust tends to become airborn and coat furniture and whatever else may be nearby the litter box. I once accidentally purchased the Extreme Odor Control formula, and I could smell it everywhere! Terrible strong perfume odor! This supposedly unscented formula may not be as strong as the Extreme Odor Control, but it still does contain that scent. I just returned half the box that I had not dumped into the litter box, intending to exchange it for the Perfume and Dye Free formula, but it looks as though you've discontinued that product, so I wound up exchanging it for Cat's Pride. I won't be buying any more Fresh Step unless and until you bring back the Perfume and Dye Free formula.
Worth the Money I am the cheapest person alive. I'm in my mid-20's and buy everything generic. I typically assume that generics are just as good. Well, it's just not true with cat litter. I've tried almost every kind there is, and this cat litter is FAR SUPERIOR. People can't even tell I have a cat. My house does not smell like cat, or cat litter. I don't care how much more expensive this stuff is-- I will never buy anything else. Even the Arm & Hammer stuff, which I had to buy once b/c the store was out of Fresh Step, doesn't work as well.
The best litter, strongly recommended We've had our beautiful little Pita for five months now, and in the beginning I tried several different litters trying to find the one that really worked. I tried Pine Wood Pellets recommended by a local feed store - she wouldn't go near it. Tried "The World's Best Litter", it wasn't, left too much odor. Tried Arm & Hammer, the smell of the litter itself was way too strong and very irritating to me. Finally tried Fresh Step and I will never use any other product. There is NO odor from the litter or Pita's contributions, and the cleanup is easy due to the clumping. This is really an excellent product and we strongly recommend it. Good job, thank you for such a good product!
Really is unscented I really, REALLY hate the scent that is used in cat litters and often find that what is sold as unscented still has some icky perfumish smell when the cats use it. This really doesn't smell, of anything. The cats love it, and we have an some litter box use issues. Everybody is happy with this litter. It also is has more of a gravel quality. So many litters are too fine, more like sand and the cats feet sink into it up to a inch or so, which they do not like.
Luv This Stuff...So do my cats. Oreo and Reese love this stuff. Oreo sits right by me when he knows its time to change it lol. And Reese luvs to use it the minute I have changed it so it must say you guys are doing something right. Congratulation's on a Fantastic Product Folks!!!!.

LOVE THIS STUFF Ive tried many different litters over the years and in my opinion, this litter seems to work the best. It clumps nicely and is easy to clean. It also has a pleasant smell.
Fresh step odor shield 42 lb bag I love this litter. It is a better price than the boxes and the litter is so much better than the other brands. Some of the other brands odor is just as bad as the cats. This has no odor and every thing is in one clump unlike some of the other brands that leave pieces behind. I will never switch to a cheaper litter.
Great litter..hate the packaging I purchase the 42lb bag and it is the worst to open, the zip top rips right off and the top of the bag is narrower than the bottom so I end up cutting the top to allow room for a scooper. The litter quality is very good.
From a cat's point of view... One of the strongest senses animals have is the sense of smell. I think adding a scent to cat litter could be irritating to the cat. That's why I generally choose the unscented litter.

Love IT!!!!!!! We were big users of another leading brand and was at the pet store and seen this was on sale. Thought we would try it, and have not gone back to the other brand. This product controls the odor very well. Especially with us having 4 cats in the house and only 1 litter box. Yes, I said one litter box for 4 cats. Will not switch brands again.
Unsurpassed Quality One of my two cats refuses to use any scented cat litter. I've tried various unscented brands but they tend to allow "other" odors free reign. I tried Fresh Step last week, it was the "odor shield" that caught my eye. I have been using a store brand unscented, scoopable. I will admit that I was skeptical about the "odor shield" and hesitant to spend the extra money. What a delightful surprise! I never thought I'd use the word delightful in reference to cat litter, but it fits. This is the only unscented cat litter I've found in 10+ years of experimenting that is able to eliminate odors without masking them with perfumes. Kudos to you! Fresh Step is an absolute winner I'm so glad I gave it a try. I hope that you offer coupons on occasion.
2nd Choice I have been using Fresh Step for many years and the one that was the best, "GREEN", is no longer available. Please bring back, my cat loved it. When I couldn't get the Green anymore, I grabbed a box of the Odor Control which happened to be scented but did not say so on the box, and my cat would not cover up his business, obviously because he did not like the smell after being use to the Green variety. Now I am using the unscented Odor Control and he seems to be ok with it.
One & Only Put simply, it is the ONLY brand I will use! Our litter box is in our kitchen of all places, so the litter MUST control odors! Fresh Step is the ONLY brand that does the job non-stop--- even when it doesn't get "scooped" as often as it should! Over the years I have tried ALL the other brands out there, and I will NEVER switch. Fresh Step is one of the handful of products I am VERY brand loyal to!!!
Really blocks smells Thank you Fresh Step for making a litter that eliminates smells instead of covering them up with a stronger perfume odor. Still clumps very well and the dust is minimal.
Best Litter We have three cats and had a difficult time finding a litter that could keep up with demand. Both in smell elimination and clumping abilities Fresh Step is the cream of the crop. If only You could create a litter that just makes the waste disappear!
Unscented scoopable I thank Tidy Cat for the unscented litter. In a house of 4 cats, urine & perfume do not mix. I would have to give an unsatisfactory mark for both the unscented and the scented scoopable litters for their DUST FACTOR. I have lite powder dust on everything. I am trying other choices, ie; the crystals and another brand of scoopable. Please do something about the dust. Saw dust has dust too.
Clumping I love the odor control...but in my opinion there is no clumping...seems like we have to scrape the litter box to get the urine out...i don't call that clumping... fix that problem and i will go back to buying the product...thanks
NO SMELL Only use this litter. If there is ever any smell, it is only because my cat Flash, is just too lazy to cover it up.

You can't get better than this! We have eight cats so odor control is very important. Odor Shield is the best you can buy. I have tried them all and would recommend this product to all cat owners. Every time one of the cats uses the litter box you smell a fresh scent. It is also easy to scoop and doesn't fall apart

Greatest Potty Litter Boxes Ever I love Fresh Step Odor Shield Unscented litter for my cats. The carbon absorbs any odors and my cats are not exposed to any perfumes or dyes which is important to me as I think this is important for keeping my cats healthy. I have 3 cats and 3 litter boxes. I scoop twice a day to keep their boxes really clean as I wouldn't want to use a dirty bathroom so I do not expect my kitties to do so, but I do not scoop due to any odors. The litter clumps really well and is easy to remove with plastic scoops with small openings. My friends and people who visit would never know I have cats until they see my handsome boys. Believe me there is NO odor! I hate the 42 pound bag. It is hard to put in and out of my cart and into my trunk when I purchase it. Worse yet is trying to pour out of the bag the first time I use it. I seem to get litter everywhere as it is so clumsy to open and pour from when it is full. I always bought the biggest plastic container of litter that I could buy, but since Fresh Step has started putting large quantities in a bag I have begun buying smaller quantities as they are packaged in a box which is much user friendly. I do wish Fresh Step could find a solution to the 40-42 pound bag problem. I would highly recommend this litter to anyone who has a kitty or kitties!

No odor, no mess! Freshstep is the only cat litter we use for our two indoor cats. The cats love the litter and our family loves the simply fresh, "can't tell you have indoor cats" result as well as the ease and convenience of it.
No perfume for the kitties I have been a veterinary technician for over 17 years, and have found that the overwhelmingly vast majority of cats really dislike the perfumy litters. That perfume is just for us, and can actually be a deterrent for cats using their boxes. My cats love Fresh Step without the perfume. This litter is close to sand- which cats would naturally use outdoors. The texture is great, clumping is wonderful, and the no-perfume feature is a must. We all love it!
This stuff is great! My cats love it and so do I. I have 4 indoor cats (soon as we finish the pen, they'll be able to go outside, but for now they're staying inside). Great Product We have 4 cats sharing 2 litter boxes. Over the years we've tried many kinds and brands of cat litter. We've been getting the Fresh Step Odor Shield in the 42 pound bag size and it works great. The odors are absorbed almost immediately and you can't smell the litter boxes. Last year we had a contractor working on our home for 3 weeks and at the time had 6 cats & 3 boxes. The contractor told me if he hadn't seen the litter boxes he wouldn't have known we had them. The compressed 42 lb bag is a bit of a challenge but the handle is sturdy (We've only had 1 break). We use the handle not only for carrying it but for lifting it to pour it in the boxes. We scoop the boxes at least once a day. Each litter box has almost a full bag in it and we use approx 1 bag every 6 week replenishing the boxes.
Wonderful Product As a new cat owner, I tried a similar product but it was so overloaded with perfume, my family and kittens wanted to gag. I then tried the Fresh Step Odor Shield (I think it's unscented). It works wonders! No perfume to kill your nose, but also no smells from the kittens either. I won't be buying anything else! Thank you for making such a great product!
Odor Shield is for real I have 4 indoor only cats and I tried the new Odor Shield clumping litter. This stuff is amazing! What a difference. I've been using Fresh Step for years and I love it and now with the odor shield it's even better. My cats like it and people comment that you would not know we had 1 cat much less 4 in the house. I highly recommend this litter.
The Bag's the problem We like the product and the cats don't mind it. but our main concern is that you changed the packaging and we do not like it. It's hard for my daughter to pour and it's hard for me to pick p at the store due to the bag. It hurts our hands because there is no where to grab the package. when she goes to pour it there is no where to grab on to the package to make it convenient. we would recommended changing the packaging.
A picky cat satisfied... My cat is very picky about many different things, and his litter is no different. He loves his litter. On trips he will actually crawl into a freshly cleaned litter box with fresh litter and just sit there refusing to come out.
Dusty I love the clumping cat litter; however, the litter is very dusty. Usually, when I bring the bag home, I empty it in a plastic container OUTSIDE, holding the bag as high as possible to allow as much of the dust as possible to escape. If I do not do this, my cats sneeze and have congestion when they use their litter boxes. This would be a purrfect product for both me and my cats if the dust could be reduced or eliminated.
Best cat litter ever! I have 11 indoor cats. Fresh step has been a lifesaver for me. I personally think it is the best cat litter on the market. I tell anyone I see buying cat litter in the stores that fresh step is the best.
Purrin' Happy Helen Keller (aka Meeps) will go crazy if she sees one of three things come into our apartment: cat food, Cheezits, or this litter. She loves nothing more than to rub all over the box as I open it, then races to be the first one of our two cats to "have a turn" at the fresh pile of litter. She definitely knows what she likes, from her favorite kitty food to her favorite flavor of people food, so the cat litter is no exception. Meeps isn't a fan of the scented kind; she tends to sneeze if I buy it. I just love how easy it is to scoop this litter and how much better our tiny bathroom smells since we started using Odor Shield. You have two happy fans for life.
happiness is a pile of Fresh Step clean litter Alex, the Great, as we call him, is spoiled and loveable. His favorite time is when I pile a hill of Fresh Step Cat Litter in the center of his litter box. He jump in and plays ownership to the pile. Litter goes flying a bit, but it his way of telling us he loves his litter. He waits till I leave to do his job and we all are happy again. Fresh Step has been his kitty litter from his first day, and I chose Fresh Step because of the clumping ability and that there is no smell lingering around. We both appreciate your wonderful litter. Number #1 in our book.
Works for Us! For many years, I had been using the scented Fresh Step litters. These worked wonders for the kitty odors, but they left dust on everything in the room. This was bad for my allergies, and sometimes the kitties would opt to do their business on the floor instead of the litter box. I decided to try the unscented kind and noticed a huge difference. Not only do the cats use their box consistently, I've noticed that the furniture in my household doesn't smell like kitty litter anymore. My breathing is a lot better as well! As for odor control, it's not as good as the scented kinds, but it has proven to keep unwanted odors at bay better than other brands I've tried.
perfect out of all the hundreds of litter I've tried, this one is the best by far. This one controls odor better than any other I've used, and has absolutely no dust. The one I purchase says, "Perfume and Dye free" Premium cat litter on the front, but I couldn't find that cat litter on this website as a selection, but it's definitely made by Fresh Step. I figured this one was the same. But if you want a dust free litter, Fresh Step premium scoopable litter Perfume and Dye free cat litter is the one to buy.
Very dusty! I have been using Fresh Step for years and I buy in bulk at Costco. The packaging has been changed from a nice bucket to a bag and it seems it is so much dustier now. Probably has nothing to do with the packaging but the whole room has a white film when I refill the box! My husband and I both noticed it. We are looking for a new brand that isn't as dusty. Please bring the old stuff back!!!
Better but not best I purchased the new litter with Odor Shield. It is better than the old kind but not as good as the two products that were on the market -- very briefly -- from Fresh Step. They had two fragranced litters: Lavender and Mountain XXX (I forget the second descriptor word). These were AWESOME in controlling litter box smell. I wish they would bring them back.
Big difference I didn't pay any attention to "new and improved" on the One Step package until I logged into my account and was invited to add a review. NOW I understand why I've been frustrated with the smelly catbox for the past several weeks! I couldn't figure out why the catbox suddenly smelled ALL the time, even right after being cleaned! I was even going to replace the box, thinking that the odors must have penetrated the plastic, but I know now that it's the "new and improved" formula - I was perfectly happy with "old and dependable." How disappointing!
My cats were skeptical I have two cats (adult brothers-adopted at the humane league together), that have been using the regular Fresh Step Scoopable Clumping Litter. I bought the Odor Shield because Petsmart was out of stock on the type I had been using. I scooped their box and sprinkled small amounts of the new Odor Shiled in with the old litter. They both sniffed it, walked around, walked in and out of the spare bathroom where one of their litter boxes is located. Eventually, they used it. Knowing how much cats don't like change, I was concerned they would go outside the box in protest. However, they both used it and it has worked extremely well in odor control.
Why Change a Great Product? I used to LOVE your product, but since it's been supposedly improved, I'm thinking of trying another brand. I never used to smell the catbox, even with 2 cats. Now, it's nasty smelling all the time. I guess it's good for the cats, because I have to clean it out a lot more often just to be able to stand walking into the laundry room where it's kept. We have the enclosed litter box, but now it smells more like an open port-a-potty.
Cats Fave This is by far the best unsented litter on he market. I have 3 cats; one of which can only use unsented litter. The odor is the best of all the litters that I have tried. Not to metion it's the cats favorite. I just wish that it came in larger boxes.
dusty I was disappointed at the amount of dust! I am trying to find a litter with less dust and was not happy when I saw the dust from this as I scooped it into the litter box. One of my cats sneezes because of the dust from another brand. I went back to Fresh Step thinking it might be more dust free......: (
BEST YET!!! I have been using Fresh Step for years, after trying countless other litters. Clumping Fresh Step has been the best. I just bought the new Odor Shield since it was the same price as the other and LOVE IT!! It smells great, clumps great, and I have 4 cats. excellent product Don't misunderstand me,I am not rich,I am on social security,but for the money this is a very good choice. I hate cat box odor and so does everyone else,so it is benefical for my use.It does clump very well and I don't have to dump out the entire box every week. Good Job guys!
It works but not the best! I will only use Fresh Step Cat Litter, it definatly is the best. I purchased the unscented version because it was on sale. I liked the cat litter but it did not hide much of the initial odor you get after your cat uses it. It did control the odor well as far as length of time. I did find with this litter that it seemed to be more loose and come out of the litter box with my cats, this always happens with any litter but I think it may have a little more. Still a great jproduct just will stick with other choices from Fresh Step.
very good product I have a new Kitten and this is the only litter we use. I tried another brand and did not like it because of the odor. we use scented, Scoopable and that seems to be the best we have ever used. We are sold on the product and there is no odor in my house. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS I have wanted a kitty for a LONG time. Part of the reason that I waited so long was due to the notion that no matter how much I kept up with the litter box, it would still smell horrible. The last time I had a cat was when I was very young and it was a nightmare. My mom only bought cheap clay litter, which did not control the odor at all. The dust from it caused my allergies to flare up, and overall it was a mess. I recently bit the bullet and adopted a sweet orange tabby. I shopped around, and ended up buying this product. It seemed a little pricey at first, but you know what... it's very very much worth it. My kitty loves it and I love it. My house never smells like there is a litter box present. The litter clumps wonderfully, there is not a lot of dust that kicks up when adding fresh litter, and due to it being unscented, i have not had one allergic reaction. It also lasts for a long time. I regularly clean it, and one box of this litter can last several weeks. I add a little extra in when it gets low. NOTE: I only have one cat, so I am not sure how long it would last for multiple kitties. I love this, and will continue to buy this every time. My ONLY ONLY complaint, which it isnt really one, is that I have not found a large bag of this litter. I have only seen it in the 20 pound box. If a larger quantity is available for sale, that would be fantastic. Overall, like I said, I LOVE this! Thank you Fresh Step!
Love the Scoopability!!!! Love the scoopable litter..makes cleaning the litter box much easy. less litter outside of the box also.
Best Around I tried all the litters out there. This is the best and the only one I buy. When my daughter forgets to clean the box it can go sometimes 2-3 days before I realize she hasn't cleaned it. Definately good with hiding odors. Just wish it was a little less expensive . I am trying a new item seen on TV called Sift and Toss haven't gotten it yet but will let you know how convenient it is when I try it.
I've Asked My Cats And they really like it! The hardest thing is living with my brother who has a nose like a bloodhound. I'm surprised he doesn't work at the airport smelling luggage. Keeping the box as odor free as possible is my #1 priority, thank goodness for Fresh Step!
favorite one This is the only liter I use. I have two cats and the house never has a cat smell. I have even left them for a couple for days and upon return have a fresh smelling house!! I wish I could continue to use my paw points to get coupons because the liter is expensive.
Love it My cat Sammy has a much stronger urine and feces odor than my previous cat who was female. I was using the other Fresh Step Products but this one is the best for the current problem I have. The odor is under control and the clumping is great just like your other products. He is a very skittish and shy cat but is becoming friendlier all the time.
the bomb This is by far the best. Beat out arm and hammer, freshstep in a bag(hate this stuff even though it the same brand, vot some with pawpoints, and way better than store brand. Have four cats and you wouldn't know by smell.only can tell by the scratching they do when they poo! I like.
Great Product with one exception We have had our cat for 18 months and have used nothing but Fresh Step Scoopable litter. I love using this litter because of the fresh scent, there is never an odor in the house and it is a breeze to use. The litter box is always fresh and clean. The one exception that I wish would change is the dust problem. If this litter produced less dust, it would be the perfect product. Maybe one day that problem will be resolved also., but I will still continue to use Fresh Step even with the dust. The positive qualities out weigh the one negative issue.
fresh step. . I have 4 cats and prefer Fresh Step. But being retired, I look for coupns, all I find are Scoop Away, which is good. Where do I get coupons ?
Fresh Step Odor Shield Absolutely controls the odor! The litter clumps well making it easier to scoop and dispose of. My cat does not seem to mind the carbon in the litter.
Clumps like Water I like the product for the odor control and have been using it for years, but recently I started using sifting liners to save on litter and money. This litter does not clump well at all, when I'm done sifting I have a few big clumps and the rest just sifts through with the clean litter.
Something missing. I myself use "Fresh Step Scoopable clumping cat litter" but I couldn't find it, Fresh Step is quite an exellent litter, but when it comes to clumping it's bad. I find myself struggling to get "clumps" (Actually goey messes) out of the cat litter box. I was very dissapointed, I heard they changed it and I think it was the wrong idea, did they even try this product before shipping it across the world for people to use? I do not believe so, I'm VERY dissapointed.
Excellent!! I have four cats and this is the only litter I use. Daily maintenance is super easy, and cleaning the pan is a breeze. Odor is never a problem, either. This is hands down the best cat litter on the market!
BEST PRODUCT We have tried just about every litter out there and this by far is the best. Unfortunately, we can never catch a sale and it is rather expensive, but we really have no choice when it comes to quality.
Best Product EVER! I've had cats all of my life. Fresh Step Scoopable is simply the best product. I have picked up Tidy Cat Multi-cat Formula and other brands when FS was not available and with all of them the box stunk within 24 hours of ammonia. With Fresh Step I have to look at the box to see if needs cleaning.
love it i like this product because nobody thinks the litter is even here.the clunping is pretty good.i do not like any other brand as i like this. i really dont know about my cats because they cant talk.
Happy with the unscented variety I really like this product because it truly reduces or eliminates odors instead of trying to cover them up with strong fragrances.
best product I have tried other clumping cat liters and found that Fresh step is the best. I have used Tidy cat, Arm & Hammer and store brands. No product other than the Fresh step controls odor. I would highly recommend Fresh step.
Unfortunate increase in package weight I have used Fresh Step for years and been quite satisfied, but I now have to change litters and so does my neighbor, I am 72 with a bad back and she has multiple sclerosis, Neither of us can handle the new larger packages of 21 lbs. and more. It was all we could do to handle the 14-lb. packages. I would recommend this product to a friend as long as they do not have a handicap.
Best Litter I've Found This litter is great! My cat has a few litter box issues, and when she doesn't like a particular type of litter she chooses to use the floor next to the litter box. This is the first litter I've found where she will consistently use the litter box. That's proof enough for me!
LOVE IT we have two cats, and we live in my boyfriends parents house, so we have one room and i dont like to let my cats run around the house, so they're in one room together all the time, which they're happy with so the dogs dont bother them. and i have one litter box between the two of them. when we have friends come over or when the family comes in, no one can even tell that we have cats in here until they run up to greet them!!! i love fresh step
Condo life saver We have a small condo where odors would be a big problem, so Fresh Step has been a life saver. The perfume & dye free type still works great at eliminating odors. Now we can happily enjoy our pet kitty. He loves this kitty litter too!
No powder smell-great stuff My cats litter box for 2 is in bathroom alongside my home office near the front door. I could not tolerate the powdery, smelly smells from other litters and the dust. The perfume and Dye free is awesome- I walk in the front door and no odor, no powder and I can work without holding my breath.

Give me more! The perfume and dye free litter is the best thing since sliced bread. I just wish it came in larger containers. We have two cats so we go through a lot of litter so it would be nice to have one large container instead of a bunch of little boxes.

Need Bigger Boxes Oh please, please, please bring back the bigger boxes of the perfume and dye free! The perfume in the new Extreme Odor Control is beyond overwhelming! It's even too much if I put only one quarter cup full in! I've used Fresh Step for years, but forcing me to purchase the smaller boxes and wasting money might just make me change that.
CAN'T IMAGINE A BETTER PRODUCT There really is no odor - I am always scooping out the waste, but there is no residual odor in either of my litter pans. I only have one cat now, but at one time I had three. Fresh Step continues to keep my apartment odor free. It's wonderful.

Great for allergies If you are allergic to scent, this litter is better than most. My cats do not hesitate to use their litter box, and when I pick them up, they do not have any scent on them. If you clean your litter box every day, no one would even know there is a cat in the house. I have 2 cats and never have a problem. It is dusty, but so is every litter. I only wish ths particular kind came in containers larger than 20 lbs.
I like unscented I like to use this because it's unscented. I have trouble finding it at the grocery store, though...

BEST SO FAR I chose this litter specifically because of the perfume and dye free aspect. It's not completely dust free as most litters of this type are not. It's a little difficult to find in the 20lb and up sizes in most grocery stores, although Target now carries a 20lb. size. Replacing your litter box filters regularly is a large part of keeping odor under control. I like to keep the litter as chemical free as possible because they lick their paws of course. I'm always looking for the next best thing in low/no dust litters, but feel this is a good quality product.
dust dust is definetly an issue but the lack of a perfume smell does make buying this litter worth the dusting every other day.
Hard to find I like this klitter just fine, but it is hard to find in grocery stores (Raleigh/Durham NC). I hope it is not being discontinued. I will not buy the 'perfumed' variety. There are other manufacturers who provide scent-free litter.
DUSTY! I've been using the Perfume & Dye Free for years, but recently it is way too dusty! Yes, it keeps the smell under control and clumps pretty well, but my cats walk out of the litter box w/ dust all over them. And the entire room gets dustier. When I pour the litter into the box, I get a serious dust cloud. Whatever you changed recently to make it more dusty, please change it back or I'm going to try another brand.
She won't go in anything else! This is by far the best litter i have tried. I can't smell that perfumy scent like the others, but most importantly my finicky cat will go right outside the litter box if i use any other kind. The only complaint i have is that this particular line is only carried in pet stores, not at the grocery store or Walmart...such an inconvenience and more costly!
4 out of 4 cats agree! For the last four cats that we've had, the Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free Scoopable litter is the only litter we will use. The scented ones just seemed to leave our cats perfumey, which we didn't like and I can't imagine they did either - especially our boy. All of our cats were adopted, so they used the pellet type litter that most shelters use and we've never had a problem transitioning any of them over to the Fresh Step. The only suggestion I have is to make it available in the large bags instead of just the 20lb boxes.
Best I've used in 20 yrs Perfume and Dye free clumps well and controls odors. There is more dust than advertised and there is a perfumy type of odor. I am not sure that my cats like that odor but it is better than other types I have used at odor control. And with multiple cats, I am really happy with the solid clumping.
No fragrance!! Love it Love that there is no fragrance. Always felt bad when I would hug my cat & could smell perfume on her little feet. She likes it better, too. Only problem is the price. Only buy it if I have a coupon or it's on sale. Sometimes it's hard to find.

Best Litter Out There Definitely the best unscented litter out there. I have asthma and one of my cats has a hard time with the scented litter. It clumps well and there is very little litter box odor. I have 4 cats an everyone always tells me that they cant even smell the litter boxes. It has been harder to find lately, so I drive to a target 15 miles from my house to pick up a few boxes.
Good but dusty I like how the dye and perfume free does not smell. We have 2 cats and the odor control has been better than expected. The only negative is the amount of dust that forms when our cats use the litter box.
WOW! Still no smell! I really like Fresh Step. So I thought I'd deviate a little from my usual scoopable and try the perfume and dye free that is also scoopable. Great stuff. It still does everything that I want it to do. I like it, my cat likes it. So, what's not to like. Worth every penny. Thanks Fresh Step!
Exactly what I needed Having perfume and dye free was a lifesaver for me. We had tried one other that was perfume free and it was awful, plus it wasn't doing a good job as litter. Fresh Step solved our problems!
More Dust Lately I used to love the Perfume & Dye Free litter, but in the last couple of months I've noticed a substantial increase in the amount of dust it generates. It used to be almost dust free, but now whenever I scoop, dust gets everywhere. I'm switching to Fresh Step Natural since it doesn't seem as dusty.
This product is good as dye free etc. This product is wonderful as perfume/dye free. Seems less dusty.
Great litter Having it dye free is great because there is no chance for the litter to dye your carpet blue. This was my favorite litter. Though at the Walmart where I bought it, never has it anymore. :(
It's Natural & Still Works Great I believe that perfumes are not put in litter for the cat but for cat owners. I think cat's prefer no odors. Not sweet & definitely not stinky. Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free still does all the great things it did with perfume & dye but now my house & my cat smell like they should. A clean cat & a clean house. The only perfume I want to smell is mine. Thanks we love it.
It works! This is the best litter on the market. It really controls the smell and it's easy to scoop - there's not a lot of dust. Pumpkin also seems happy with it. No complaints from him :)

Great for "parent's" with allergies As a person with multiple and severe allergies, I was so glad to see the perfume and dye free litter. It is the same excellent product as the Fresh Step scoopable ... .just without the perfume/fragrance that caused me allergy problems at time. My cats are VERY picky about their litter, but they don't seem to notice the difference with the perfume and dye free.
This product is great I really like Fresh Step perfume and Dye free. It never loses it's clumping power. I use a lot less litter than I than I did with my previous brand
4 Cats Tell the Tale We have 4 cats and 3 litter boxes. If the boxes are dirty or stinky I'd be so embarrased. I like Fresh Step and it appears my cats do, too (I don't think they have a choice)!
Great for older cats! I just love this product because of the fact that there are absolutely nothing added that does not need to be added. I just love that there is no great fragrance to it.
Perfume and Dye free litter I have three cats and I have to say, the perfume and dye free litter has been a life saver as I have major allergies. The price is fair and it clumps really well so we're all pretty satisfied with it needless to say. I've recommended it to my sister as she is a first time pet parent to a cat and she's been quite satisfied with this litter as well.
Best Ever! We have two Persian cats, born a year apart. They are 17 and 18 years old. We have been using Fresh Step as their litter as long as we have had them. We love that Fresh Step is easy to scoop and is the absolute best in odorr control. There is no litter box odor to greet our guests.

Controls Odors & no extra perfume smell I like using the Perfume and Dye Free litter because it controls all of the litter box oders and at the same time doesn't make the house smell like litter. Plus it is less irritating to sensitive human noses!
Controls litterbox area odors I do not like any additional odors in my household unless I am actually employing the use of some type of air freshener, so I always buy cleaners, detergents and the like that are free of scents. While I do not want litterbox smells to overtake the room I also don't want the litterbox to have any additional smell that will aggravate the humans of the place. For this reason I recommend Fresh Step's Perfume & Dye Free litter.
For sensitive noses, this is the best! My husband & I have 4 kitties. Our 6 (collective) noses give Perfume-Free Clumping Litter major thumbs & paws up!! No offensive perfume smells which we dislike & observe that our kitties hate even more, since they're much closer to the litter than we are!
Fine for Cats and their People We've used Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free litter for years. My husband and I are both sensitive to fragrances and find this product much more satisfactory than other products. It clumps well and the cats use it willingly. We tried starting our kittens in a wheat litter since clumping litter is not recommended. The litterpan was odorous all the time and the little furballs kept sneaking off to use the adults' pan with Fresh Step. We did need to clean their paws a couple of times. Petsmart and Target carry it in stock so we pick up a couple of boxes whenever we're there.
Helpful for Allergic Cats One of my cats was recently diagnosed as being allergic to fish in her food which cause me to become more aware of all things which may cause allergies. While my cats don't seem to be allergic to perfumes and dyes, I know from working in an office that one of the most annoying things is co-workers dousing themselves in perfumes and aftershaves. I can only imagine how cats, with their excellent sense of smell, can be annoyed, bothered, or become allergic to perfumes and dyes in their litter. This litter also does not contain the crystals which my cats find sharp to step on and I never buy. Thank you for making this wonderful product!
Perfect balance I like Fresh Step Perfume and Dye Free because it's just the right balance between not being too dusty and clumping well. I don't believe in perfumes for cats because their noses are so sensitive. The house never smells like there's a cat living there!
We love it! Not only does it deodorize the smell this is the only cat litter that Tigger will use. I had switched her's for a little bit and she urinated all over. I went back to the perfume and dye free and we never had that issue again.

No odor The cats and I like having a clean house without odor from cats or perfume. The clumps are easy to clean. I would like less dust, but through the years, all of our the cats have liked Fresh Step Scoop the best of any litter we've tried.

Four cat house I have four cats and three litter boxes. I switched to Fresh Step about six months ago. The cats seem very happy and there is no dust residue. I don't mind paying more, because Fresh Step lasts longer and is really a better value. I buy litter once a month instead of of once a week.
Great litter for people with allergies! I use this product and love it. It doesn't cover the kitten poo stench as well as I'd like but it keeps me from sneezing and feeling itchy like the dust from the multicat litter. It clumps really well too. I only wish that it was sold in bulk like the other cat litters so I didn't have to travel to the store so much.
kathyt I LOVE this litter! I have always liked Fresh Step because of its performance - and the cats liked it too. But I tend to prefer things that do not have a heavy perfume scent and Fresh Step® Perfume & Dye Free Litter is perfect. I am sure my cats appreciate it also since their noses are a lot closer to it than mine!! I have had no problems with odors (I have 3 cats indoors) and the cats seem to like it just fine - which is the most important thing!!!
No perfume smell. My cat and I would both sneeze when I used scented litter, so I switched to the Perfume & Dye Free litter. No smell and clumps well. The litter does get stuck inside the inner and outer cardboard box it comes in ... which makes a mess when you want to get the Rewards code.

My cat thanks you!!! My cat has had allergies to the perfume in cat litter forever. Poor thing -- I tried everything. The other brands that had perfume free either left a mess and didn't clump or didn't control odor. I am so happy to have found this product from fresh step. I just wish it wasn't so hard to find -- most times when I go to purchase, it is either sold out or the store doesn't carry it. Please please continue to carry this product and let me know where I can find it in the Chicago area. I highly recommend this product to anyone who doesn't like fragrance, has allergies, or doesn't want to subject their cat to unnecessary fragrance.
Cat Likes It! We had a problem with unwanted urination. Vet suggested changing litter type and using unscented litter. This product fit the bill. It's never on sale, however, and is sometimes hard to find or out-of-stock. Dust is a minor issue.
Great stuff - I love it when the clump stays clumped! Its the little things in life that make it a pleasure to spend time with my cat(s). Until recently I had 2 felines and Fresh Step (Perfume & Dye Free) is one of their favorite litters. Odor control is great and lack of perfume doesn't offend me - so it must be heavenly to the cat! Only reason this is a 4-star litter is the fairly thick cloud of dust after pouring from the box, bucket or measuring cup....

Helps with allergies My cat & I were both sneezing from the perfumes and we don't have that problem with this one. There is still quite a lot of dust and it would be helpful if that could be reduced somewhat so that when you pour the litter there is not a cloud of dust over the box.
The only litter I will use! I have tried many litters and am grateful I found one with no perfume or dye. One of our cats has allergies and this is the only litter that does not make him sneeze. I wish there were less dust when I first open the box, but it seems to settle well and does not kick up when they dig. We have had a number of guests that are surprised we have 4 cats, as they have commented there is no "cat" odor in our home at all.
perfume and dye free My boys and myself love the perfume and dye free litter...they are sensitive as it is to certain things and this litter definatley helps alleviate nasal congestion and discomfort...We love it!
what cat litter? I don't smell anything!` Love it. There are so many smells in your house. Air fresheners, perfume, candle, you... why add another smell to your house. I don't want to smell the "cats business" or the litter. And with this I don't smell either.
Needs Work There's not a major problem with the dye and perfume free Fresh Step, but it could use im- provements in odor and clumping control. One of my cats has a very strong urine, he's healthy , but his system just seems to work that way. I found that the odor isn't controlled near enough, I'm always aware when he goes. As for the clumping, when it gets low, it tends to be on the muddy side sometimes and I'm usually on top of the litter situation, especially with 5 cats. I've also tried to get the all "Natural" litter because recently one of my babies has developed an allergy to the litter and another one seems to show a problem with his left eye, but my stores don't seem to sell the natural here. I was hoping to try it before I had to resort to switching brands, but I guess there's a good chance that won't happen. I've used your product for several years and always (for the most part) have been satisfied with the outcome so it really does disappoint me that I may no longer be able to because of no ac- cess.
Perfume and DyeFree Litter When I scoop the litter, I do not get as much odor and dust that bothers my allergies. This was recommendd by my vet for the health of my cat. .I switched and I am glad I did.
Very Good Litter My cat has eye problems and my vet recommended that we try this litter when he began to have eye drainage. We made sure he didn't had an eye infection. Also he had started going outside the box and after many vet bills to make sure it was not medical, she brought up that some cats do not like the smell of scented cat litter because those tend to have more dust. I changed to the new free of dye and scents and he moved back to the box his eyes are much better. I have asthma so it is much easier for me to clean with less dust.
The best litter I've tried Fresh Step Perfume & Dye free is the best litter we've tried. Even though it's perfume free it does have a slight fresh scent. This stuff blocks odors really well and my cats haven't had any issues with it. My only (very minor) gripe is the amount of dust. Sometimes I wear a mask over my nose and mouth when I change the litter to avoid breathing it in. Overall I highly recommend this product.
Allergies While this litter still has dust issues, it doesn't bother my allergies as bad as the scented does. It still keeps odor down and kitty still likes it.
Why can't I find this everywhere? This is my preferred cat litter because my cat was having issues going outside of his litter box. I switched to the perfume and dye free and he liked it but it is not available at all the stores I shop. Hoping the company will distribute at more locations.
dust I like that the litter does'nt have a scent.I think that it needs something done about the cloud of dust when you pour it.
Have used for many years I like Fresh Step and have used it for many years. However, whenever I find another litter for a better price I do try them and am usually quite satisfied with others also. I like the smell of this litter and how it scoops. But I am a price conscious consumer and am still willing to try other products.

Great for pet owners with "asthma" and allergies I know many cats prefer the "dye free" and I have reccomended Fresh Step to several of my cat loving friends. Many of them have asthma & allergies.They now use & love it. Personally, I love the FS others with scents. Many other brands are strong smelling and turn me off. However, I have no problem with the Multi- cat strength and Lavender. My favorite
Superior product I think this is an excellent product; the only (small) drawback to us is the product is a little dusty. But, my cats wholeheartedly approve, I never smell "litter boxes" in my house. I am just sorry it took me so long to try Fresh Step.
Best Non-Perfumed Litter We've Found We buy the Fresh Step perfume and dye free litter. We won't go with anything else. It keeps cat odors down, and it doesn't have too much dust and doesn't have any strong perfume smell.
Purrrrrrfect Fresh Step Dye and Perfume Free litter does the job without the perfume oder. I have trouble with most litters that try to cover up the oders by creating another oder.
great for picky cats I had an ocicat that was very picky about her box, but she adored this product. If I changed (even to other Fresh Step) she would stop using the box. I think it was due to the perfume odor. She has passed now and my other cats are not as picky although they prefer Fresh Step and so do I.
awesome product! I don't smell anything when I use this litter. This is the greatest litter ever. My cat even enjoys the smell.
No perfumes and no dyes! No perfumes and no dyes...what a great product! We like to buy products that have little or no perfume smells. Our cats do too!
Pretty good! Does not clump very well- falls apart when you scoop so you almost have to completely dump the litter box when you clean it. This doesn't make my cats sneeze from dust like other products have or make them smell like cheap perfume. Overall it's pretty good, recently started trying arm & hammer, I think it may be my new litter- odor control and clumping is better. I have 2 male cats sharing 1 giant litter box fyi.
Scent is for us, not the cats! My cats don't like scented litter and this litter is the least scented I can find, a little dusty and rough for the older cats but best easily available litter around!
OK.... Though perfume and dye free, it still has a scent and the dust control needs improvement. That said, it's our go-to litter.
Effective moisture & odor control My husband is allergic to everything, and this litter, although not perfect, has not bothered him as much as other varieties. The dust is still about as bad as the others, so I usually have to close off the room until it settles after adding more. Using a cup and being careful helps. If Freshstep would find a way to also reduce the dust, this would be the best litter ever.
Great for sensitive noses Both me and my cats have trouble when pouring litter into the boxes and there's a big cloud of dust and perfume in the air. The cats definitley prefer this litter over anything with perfumes. Their sense of smell is so much stronger than ours, it's a wonder they even use a box with perfumes litter at all!
wonderful for allergies I sneeze from perfumes and from scented items like cat litter. Fresh Step Allergy free is wonderful. No sneezing for me and my cat loves his ltter. Easy to use and lasts a long time.
Healthy Litter! My vet recommended perfume-free litter, and I wanted to have dye free for my cat-children's safety. This product nailed both perfectly, and my cats like it. No litter problems with our 3 cats, no scoop problems for us. Thanks for a great product!
Good For Sensitive Kitties! My cat has allergies and this product has been very helpful. It doesn't control odor like the regular Fresh Step. However, I can live with cleaning more often if it means my cat won't be scratching and having ear issues which her allergies cause. Scooping litter vs chasing cat down with Benadryl syringe. I'll just scoop more!
Good for cats with allergies One of my babies has allergies to just about everything - having your litter with no "odor control" by way of perfumes has been great - it has enabled me to cross one problem off my list
Poor at order control! Even though I like the perfume/dye free, I find it doesn't control the odor as well as the regular clumping litter. I used it last week and within the space of 4 days I was smelling it. I added more litter to the box , but it didn't make any difference. I had to dispose of the entire box in a week. Normally I can get 3 weeks from the regular litter before I need to dispose of it. I won't buy anymore of it.
Perfume and Dye Free - says it all I like the Fresh Step products in general, but this one in particular works best for me because it is perfume and dye frees. Since I have allergies, as does at least one of my cats, the perfume and dye free aspect is really helpful - and still the litter works.
still smellin great I tried this product and it was Good. It still clumps great, but with so many cats it helps to have something to drown out the order. But I did like the fact that there are no Perfumes and Dyes in it. Thanks Fresh Step.
Cat's Noses are Very Sensitive The first requirement for a cat litter should be if you cat likes it or not. A cat's sense of smell is much better than ours, so I don't want to overwhelm my cat with strong scents. For me, I love this litter because the clumping is superior--it's very easy to remove all the waste in one scoop, and our cat seems to like using it. Plus, there's not a lot of dust which is great for both me and our cat.

Great perfume free litter My cats and I are all very satisfied with this litter. I am not a fan of the heavy perfume smell of many litters, so I am very pleased that Fresh Step makes this Perfume and Dye free version. It clumps very well, and my cats seem to be quite comfortable with it.

Best litter I have found! I have had cats all of my life, and have experimented with MANY, MANY different types of litter. I had never tried Frest Step before because I had never found one that was perfume free (I cannot stand the smell of perfume mixed with urine or feces), but one day I came across this one at the store. I decided to give it a try just to see how it would be and have been 100% satisfied ever since. I have never had a litter that controls odors as well as this one, and have never regretted changing from my previous litter which, up until that day, I thought was the best one on the market. I will be a Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free litter customer from now on. And my cats never blinked at the change.
Six Happy Cats! Two of my sweeties have skin allergies to the point of licking off their tummy fur and scratching their ears raw. I have switched litters numerous times and found that the perfume/dye free litter doesn't irritate their skin. Finally, less itching and scratching . They all love clean, fresh cat boxes and can't wait to jump in! We love the instant clumping. It can be a little dusty sometimes so I wipe my cats' fur frequently.

Vet Recommended Fragrance-Free; Cat Rated Paws Down After inappropriate elimination, Vet recommended switching to unscented litter. Found the Perfume & Dye Free to be milled with more consistent grain size than other Fresh Step products. My cat didn't respond well to fragrance-free litter and actually prefers the regular scented clumping Fresh Step.
Perfume and dye free litter It's not as good as the scoopable kind. It does not deodorize very well.
no perfume or dye I like the natural for my furry babies. They like how soft the litter is on their paws...in other words it feel soft, not too thick grain, it hurts their lil paws. Now i want to try that all natural that has just come out....hope they like it.....I spend alittle more on your product, could get the cheap, but my babies wouldn't like that..... thank, cj texas

Great if you don't like the smell of litter I tried all the Fresh Step litter types. I felt the 'perfume' ones were a bit too fragrant. This one is PERFECT if you don't care for the scents of traditional litter. Highly recommended!!

4.5 star litter I use Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free almost exclusively. Shortly after we adopted Monk I developed asthma after changing the perfume-y, dusty, baking soda brand of litter we started him out on. The last time I had owned a cat was before clumping litters were developed, so I had picked a brand pretty randomly. I quickly learned that all litters are not all alike, and that for my health as well as his I have to avoid heavy fragrances and dust. I tried a number of brands and types, including litters based on corn and pine, but neither of us could adjust to most of them. While Fresh Step Is certainly not completely dust or fragrance free, it definitely controls odors extremely well. The fragrance and dust is easily manageable for Monk, and I just hold my breath or use a facial mask when doing my daily cleaning to avoid breathing in any dust that would stir up my asthma. There is another brand that may be slightly better for me, but it is much more expensive than Fresh Step. For the money, I love Fresh Step. I only wish I could find the Perfume Free style in the larger pails instead of just the 20 lb. box!
Great Product for Allergy Sufferers As much as my cat loves Fresh Step Perfume and Dye Free, which he's been using since I found him under my car at 7 weeks old a year and a half ago, I LOVE IT MORE cause of MY allergies. But I must say Vito gets very excited when I add new litter to the box. He usually jumps right in while I'm pouring it.....So I'd say that's two Paws up in our household. Thanks!!
Average It doesn't really seem to be perfume free. Still smells like regular litter to me. But it works just fine, so it's alright, I just wish there wasn't so much dust.

Great for kitties with allergies My kitty Samantha has allergies in her eyes, she had been since I got her 7 years ago. I alternate between this litter and the FS multiple cat litter. I know since this is perfume and dye free that it won't irritate her eyes or skin.
Love the free part We love the part where there is no perfumes to irtate my cats nose and sinuses. Also it makes me feel so much safer with the no dye part. You can never know what the dyes my end up doing to your cats skin and fur. So many diseases are carried and passed on by the skin. Just overall feel so much worry free about her stepping in her liter pan knowing that she is safe.
Perfume free paws and claws Super for the scooper and the cat! We are very happy with your perfume and dye free litter. Recently we added a 3rd kitty to our family and thought that meant the end of unscented litter boxes; we were concerned about territory issues as well as the times they may decide to all use the same box even though we have 4 throughout our home. We have 1 male and 2 female cats and if you didn't see all the cat toys and the cats you would never know it! The perfume and dye free litter works great and there hasn't been any reason to change to multi-cat formula or your scented products. Another benefit is when we have a foster kitty that will be adopted by a new family we believe it is best for the cat to have fewer new scents in their new and transitional environment. We recommend your scented products as well for those who like fragrance and are allergy free.
Love this litter I have been using fresh step of all varieties for years. They clump the best, better than any other brand I have tried. My cats love the no perfume the best. It is great, but it doesn't quite as good of odor control as the scented, but if the cats like it better then it's good for me.
This one rocks I like the dye free/perfume free litter about the same as the regular clumping litter. I can't tell a difference, but I really hope it's better for my kitty. I love fresh step products, especially their clumping litters :) Paw points rock too!
GREAT LITTER I have used this for years. The cats and I do not like the scented type. Controls odor and clean out of clumps is easy.
Couldn't ask for better I have 6 cats and started using the dye and perfume free about 2 years ago. My cats seem to prefer it since there is no sweet smell when they get in the litterbox. I found after working in the veterinary profession for 17 years that cats sometimes react to strong smells, whether they are cleaning products or perfume. My cats and I are all very happy with the perfume and dye free litter.
Would recommend this product I love this product, I continue to buy it despite that it is more expensive than other kinds. I don't mind spending the extra because I know it is safe for my cat and it is very effective.
Excellent We've used the perfume and dye free for 6 months now, and we like its clumping and odor free qualities. A few boxes have had more dust than others, but most are fine after the first batch has been poured into the litter box.
No purfume odor This is by far my favorite brand. No purfume smell transferred from the cat onto bedding and furniture.
It doesn't stink!!!! I like the idea of perfume and dye-free litter, and my cats like it. Although none of us are allergic, I feel it is safer for my furbabies. Also, perfumed litters don't smell good--they STINK. I don't know which is worse, the smell of cat poo or the "perfume" that's supposed to cover up the smell. The only problem with this litter is that it is extremely hard to find.
Anonymous09 This litter is great for people that are sensitive to perfumes and have asthma such as my mother, she is so glad that she can use a great litter that doesn't have smells to it. I would tell anyone that is sensitive to things to use this litter.
best pick no perfume smell I've tried other cat litters and this works the best and it does not have a perfume smell. My kitty has allergies and this is the best out there for her.
This stuff is great! I have always used Fresh Step litters, but this kind is the best yet. I like the fact that it doesn't leave a dusty/smelly film on anything next to the boxes, including my cats. They all like better as well. They actually stay in the box long enough to cover, instead of jumping out as fast as they can. I also like that my older cat whom used to go outside has no problems using the boxes; especially now that he is strictly indoors.
Great Odor Control I like this cat litter because it contains on dyes or chemicals! So I know my cat is say while using her box.
WOw! I love Fresh Step perfume &and dye free litter. My cat is 13yrs old and doesn't like all the perfume smell of cat litter. It works just like all the other Fresh Step products: controls odors, clumps well. I highly recomend this product if you don't want all the perfume smell but do want odor control.
Great for fussy kitties I have a cat who shunned her litterbox in favor of the bathtub...until I tried this product. I am happy to say that the litterbox issue has been solved.

Great Odor & Clumping Control Fresh Step Perfume and Dye Free clumps great and controls the odor perfectly without having a heavy perfume scent to mask the odor. I think my cat spends a little more time perfecting her litter mound because she likes the feel of the litter on her paws. She'll create a tall mound to cover one feces that is only the size of a quarter :) The reason I gave this litter 4 stars is because I felt it was dusty. But so far, I haven't found a dust free scoopable litter.

Exactly as promised The only cat litter my cats uses. Have tried numberous other Fresh Step litter and she didn't like them or I should say didn't used them. Please don't stop making the perfume and dyed free.
New Cat Owner This is the first litter I have used and it seams to be working well. I like that it does not leave the typical litter small in the house. When we adopted our cats, Fresh Step Clay Litter was recommended. Since we wanted a clumping litter, we looked at those options. As a Californian, being natural is an important factor, thus we chose Perfume and Dye Free. At this point, I have no reason to try another litter.
Perfect litter Cleanest, best litter there is. No question. It absorbs odor very well and contains it without any special scents that attempt to cover. Seems less dusty too- sweeps up easily and the little guy loves his litter.
Perfume and Dye Free Litter Fresh step perfume and dye free little was a blessing to find at petsmart! My cat has breathing issues and I have asthma so neither of us could stand the strong perfume scent most cat litters contain. I tried the cat litter with crystals but my cat did not like the crystals and refused to use the box. I tried paper but that was just a mess. Finally one day walking though petsmart I came across the perfume and dye free litter made by Fresh Step. I could not believe my eyes and I was amazed that there was such a product out there. I quickly bought a box and zipped home to try out the new littler. When I opened the box and dumped the little into the littler pan there was no overwheling perfume scent and I could breath easily during the whole process! My cat soon came in to use the box and he seemed to be happy with the sandy feel under his paws and I also noticed he was not wheezing when he was done using the box! WOO HOO! Fresh Step you are a winner in our book! Thank you for making such a wonderful product! Stormy and I can breath easy with the perfume and dye free litter!
Fresh Step Perfume and Dye Free Litter I have allergies to perfumes, so it is important that the litter I use does not have any scent added. I also like the Fresh Step Perfume and Dye Free Litter as it also has a low amount of dust.
The best there is No pretty perfume-y scent that makes you think, "AHA, there's that telltale cat litter smell." I love it. My cats use the litter box, and don't drag "perfume" on their paws, leaving the whole apartment smelling that way. It also works better at keeping kitty odors at bay in a small apartment better than any other litter I've used. My number one favorite.

Perfume and dye free The clumping littler is so easy for keeping my kitty's pan clean but I feel better knowing that it's perfume and dye free as I cannot tolerate perfumes and dyes myself.

Perfume and dye free I strongly prefer this litter because my cat has allergies that led to the development of inflammatory bowel disease. He seems to do best with the perfume and dye free cat litter, but it is extremely hard to find where I normally purchase his litter. I would rate this litter as excellent for anyone who has a cat with allergies.
2 Thumbs & 4 Paws Up! My Mother has 3 cats and she's tried every litter out there. She's been using Fresh Step scoopable for multiple cats for years. When our female American Short Hair found us (she was a stray) we didn't even bother testing litter - we bought Fresh Step. We chose the Perfume & Dye Free Litter as we both have allergies and don't use any scented products. We did wonder if the scent masked the pet odor and if we'd smell pet odor using the "free" litter. No need to worry! NO pet odor! In terms of scoopability - this product performs well always, make cleaning up the litter box very easy. We love the product, the cat loves the product. We also like that Fresh Step donates to shelters. It's a win-win all around.

allergy free! I took my cat to every Vet because she constantly had sneezing attacks. No one could diagnosis her. I decided to try this litter and no more sneezing! She was obviously allergic to the litters with fragrance.

No more perfume smells I was very excited when my local store starting carrying the Perfume & Dye Free Litter. In the past when the cat used the litterbox or we changed the cat's litterbox the whole house smelled like cheap perfume. Now I can change the liter and no know even knows that its been done.
Fresh-Step Perfume Free I have two female cats who are so fussy! They don't like the strong smelling kitty litter. I feel better in using a product without all the additives that the cats would be breathing in..not to mention me...lol

Perfume/Dye-Free Litter Is Great! Thank goodness for perfume/dye-free Fresh Step! Some odors/aromas make me sneeze, but I have no trouble with this product. Beyond that, though - believe it or not! - out of the cats I have, one may be (but not definitely, yet) allergic to litter with whatever in it, regardless of brand, that creates the aroma and lack of "kitty odor." He breaks out in little bumps, beginning at the base of his tale and spreading around his thighs - except with perfume/dye-free Fresh Step! Not everywhere sells it, despite having other Fresh Step products, so thank goodness, again, for Target, because that's the only place I've been able to find it!
Good product, hard to find I have trouble finding the perfume free always. I wish every store would carry this.
We use Perfume and dye free Fresh Step when we don't know the cat well I work in a "Cat Rescue" club and am often called on to temporarily house cats I don't know, cats rescued from a shelter or found on the streets. Some of these cats are not in the best of health and we don't know it they have allergies so we always use scent free liter. The Fresh Step brand is great! I use their regular liter at home with my own two cats and I use the non perfumed in my garage with rescued cats and it works great. There is never a "cat box" odor in the garage at all. I love the product and I guess the cats do too as they always use it right away. This was not always true when we used other brands.

Perfume and Dye Free Litter Review The Perfume and Dye Free Litter is wonderful! I never smell my cat's odor in the house. When you walk into my house you would never even know I have a cat! With previous litters my cat has had to go back in to the litter box multiple times before he felt his business was buried enough, but with Fresh Step he spends much less time inside his box and more time playing with his toys!
Look ma, no rash! With nine cats, the odds are in my favor to get one with allergies! The unscented and dye free is perfect for keeping allergic reactions to a minimum in both kitties and humans. Add that great clumping power and you've got a purr-fect product!
Fresh Step Dye Free is Great I've been using Fresh Step's Dye-Free product for several years and I think it is the best. I have 5 cats in my home and no one can ever tell because there is no odor. I also like that it is better for my cats since it is dye free. It clumps well and that is important in a multi-cat household. No smells at all!!! I chose the dye and perfume free cat litter because I figured I didn't want the litter box smelling like scented cat poo. Of course this was before I realized how wonderful FreshStep was both scented and unscented! I like the unscented variety because we have some sensitive respiratory systems here in the house and certain scents aggravate the special noses. The unscented works wonders to keep the cat litter odors in check!

Litter, dye and fragrance free We have 3 adopted kittys. One of them had litter box issues. He had tummy problems and would not use the litter box. Our Vet recommended the dye and perfume free litter, and after 6 months of going on the floor, he finally started using the litter box. We are so thankful. Although it was a medical problem at first, the new litter encouraged him to use the box. Whew...

We like perfume free! We used Fresh Step Scoopable during our former cat Katarina's life. When two new kittens arrived we had no reason to change, but I did notice Fresh Step's Perfume & Dye Free Scoopable Litter and decided I wanted to make sure that perfumy litter was not part of their lives. We are always faithful in our litterbox patrol - so the need for some sweet smelling litter was not needed. It's nice hugging my Keely & Fiona without them smelling perfumy!
My favorite cat litter to date I have tried multiple cat litters, this is definitely the best. The original fresh step has a strong smell which my cat didn't like. This one is not too strong yet still controls the odor as good as the original. I wish they have bulk size for this perfume free variant.

Free I love that Fresh Step has litter that's free of perfume and dyes. Make me feel better about my purchase. Fresh Step is the only brand my cats will use. The only complaint is odor control.

Gracie loves Fresh Step Unscented My cat Gracie and I love the fact that Fresh Step has a product with no perfumes. Gracie was a rescued kitten from the street, and she came with a lot of problems from being outside without care for the beginning of her life. Having breathing problems from pneumonia and sore eyes, Fresh Step made it easy to train her without aggrevating her breathing and causing sneezing and wheezing. We continue to use Fresh Step Unscented for all our cats. And I love the fact that I don't smell of kitty litter perfume, either. Thanks!

Good cat litter for multiple cats This is a good cat litter for odor control. Before I was using a formula from the pet store that had less dust but didn't control the odor nearly as well. I live in a small apartment, so Fresh Step keeps it from smelling like a giant litterbox.
Cure for allergies This product has substantially helped my cat's allergies. She no longer scratches constantly - she is now able to retain the fur on her ears and head.
Wouldn't use any other brand! I have used this product for a yr now. When you come into my house you don't even know there is a litter box 2 rooms over. I find that it clumps quickly and the odor disappears within 5-10 min. The only problems I have are 1. Sometimes hard to find (perfume & dye free) and 2. Wish it came in a larger tub :)
Wish it was easier to find Though I really like this particular perfume and dye free formula, it is extremely difficult to find in stores. However, it does work quite well!
No perfume to mask smells This product is great because it doesn't have any perfume to mask smells. Clumping is excellent.

The ONLY litter we use This is the ONLY litter that works well for us. We have used it for MANY MANY years. It keeps the litter box odors to a minimum which is a must with 4 cats!!! The perfume & dye free option is great for us as well because we do not like to smell the litter smell on the cats after they use the litter box.
Best Stuff Ever! Absolutely love this litter! Clumps immediately and stays clumped together---clumps don't break apart easily as I have found with other clumping litters. Love that it's unscented, too! -- no perfumes to smell on our furry family members. Our cats love it, too!
no problems with this litter I have 2 cats and switched to this litter about a year or so ago. I was worried how my cats would take to a clumping litter - they had no issues with it. I especially love the perfume-free aspect (though sometimes it's out of stock at the store). This litter clumps well and REALLY controls urine odor.
Sensitive Felines I have two cats that are very sensitive, more than any other cat I have ever had. So I buy them the Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free Litter. It is great, and would recommend it to anyone!
Calico kitties My girls are not picky about their litter - it's me, the choosey mom, who finds this litter to be the best all around...
Love this product In 15 yrs...I have never had a problem with odor. My Kallie loves it. I wouldn't use no other litter!
Hard to find Works great- have a cat with sensitive skin- Publix sells no dye
Allergic to frangrance Both myself and one of my cats have trouble with fragrance. We switched to the perfume free and now neither of us has any issues and the litter still blocks the odor of the cat smells.
Love the non-scented litter Most litters that are scented are so strong and make me sneeze. If I dislike it, my cat must hate it because he is the one pawing around in it. I like having a non-scented litter option.
Eliminates odor without perfumes I like to mix Freshstep unscented litter with regular litter, and my cats prefer this as well. They didn't like the heavy perfumes from the "multiple cat "types of litter, so I switched to unscented. This product works well to control odors and doesn't contribute any perfumes of its own.

Clear the air I have found the one and only litter for my cat family! Even though I may like "fresh scented" litter, my Emma does not! She requested the one and only unscented Fresh Step! Now we are both happy campers. It controls the odor with no artifical scents to offend her delicate nose! Thanks so much for this litter, just wish it was not so hard to find!
The best litter ever! I love the Fresh Step Perfume & Dye Free Litter. It really does the job of keeping odors under control with added fragrance. I only wish it came in a larger, more economical size.
Love the NO perfume It's wonderful that you have kitty liter with no perfume. It's so hard to find products that don't stink with overwhelming perfume odor. Thanks for this option.
Good litter I (and my cat) appreciate the perfume and dye free litter option, it clumps well and leaves very little "tidbits" behind when scooping. I would only reduce how much dust it puts out when poured and used.
